Chew Valley Egrets

With the kids having disappeared for a week's holiday with my parents, I decided that the Cattle Egret at Chew Valley had been there too long for me to not visit!

As I pulled in I was met by the sight of 10 assorted Egrets on Heron's Green Pool.
I started from the right Little Egret, Little Egret, Little Egret.....until the last bird Juv. Cattle Egret, phew, but no sign of the adult bird!

Also on the pool were a couple of gorgeously coloured Little Grebe.

Across in Herons Green Bay, Coot (now there's a surprise), a Grey Heron and assorted Pied and Grey Wagtail young bouncing over each other and any other bird along the waterline. Suddenly they put up a pair of waders. As I watched them circle before landing I realised they were Common Sandpipers - could I finally get a decent picture?

NO;
